This pair of Vajra d’Albas definitively helped me nail Q3 of the 1st Year exam, through learning the structural differences between Barbera and Dolcetto. Youthful medium ruby, with only garnet hints. Bright plummy, damson fruit, which took on more black cherry notes. Touch of jamminess. Some toasty hints. Ripe, supple, plummy fruit. Medium body. Spicy warmth to mid-palate. Savoury-mineral undertow. But above all, bright, refreshingly firm acidity, with only moderate, fine-grained tannins.
