No label from this one… because it never had one! After a cellar flood at the importers, a mixed-bag of 2007 5 and 6 Puttonyos had no labels, so were sold-off via Planet of the Grapes, cheap. This bottle, however, had just enough back-label left to have a fragment of “6 Putt…” left to identify it. Beautiful at Christmas. Mid-depth amber, with copper glints. Marmalade and quince paste, with apricot fruit. Crystal ginger, honey and vanilla oak touches. Hint of meaty mushroom. On the palate, richly sweet and full bodied – reflecting the 6 Puttonyos sweetness level (180 g/L RS?) – but with crisp, almost brisk acidity to balance well. Unctuous marmalade. Long, very spicy finish. Little alcohol (11%?). Actuals: 201 g/L, 8 g/L TA and 10.5%.
