An interesting side-by-side comparison with a Muscat d’Alsace. Leaving aside the notably more ‘basic’ quality level (albeit still a well-made wine), the key differences were lower acidity and a Turkish delight note aromatically – as both had orange blossom notes, and some mineral or earthy notes. This Gewurz had the rose petal, and not the grape aromas. On the palate, off-dry, full-bodied, and with a very spicy Gewürz finish.
