One of the interesting highlights of the semi-aromatic line-up, and a first Barossa Semillon. Fairly deep gold. Bright. Legs. Hint of spritz. Most notably, a toasty – dried or unbuttered toast, similar to maturing Hunter Semillon, on the nose. Rich and waxy, with a distinctive lemon pie note. Full-bodied palate, with ripe lemon-cream fruit, more waxy toast, and a spicy, alcohol-touched finish. ‘Linear’ body shape, rather than the roundedness of Chardonnay.
