A good – if a touch simple (or maybe just youthful?) – sweet Vouvray. Served with South African-style apple pie pudding, which uses canned apples and a lot of sugar. And this held up against it well. The apple flavour of Chenin Blanc, a little botrytised & caramelised, went well also. A relatively pale gold, and comparatively simple vanilla & light botrytis roti character. Sweet, and refreshing acidity.
