Picked up at the Château when Katy and I visited, the day after the Marathon du Médoc. This was one of the tasting wines, so was good to be able to pick up a mature wine. A very fine example of a Bordeaux designed to be more approachable. Medium ruby core with a hint of garnet at the rim. Medium+ intensity nose of graphite, and cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Hint of cedar within toasty complexity. Medium bodied, medium acidity and medium+, ripe tannins well-matured. Plummy, blackcurrant-laced minerally mid-palate, with medium+ length. Good. Well-crafted.
