The final red – after Santa Duc Gigondas, 98 Beaucastel and Terram Priorat 06 – with venison. Perfectly mature, with silky tannins, but surprising depth of both colour and flavour – reflecting the 14.5% ABV ripeness perhaps? Some spicy and game notes of maturity as well. Just very pleasant and easy drinking really. Good. Not amazing, but definitely good.
