Simply superb, even in its youth. Thankfully I can track its evolution over the next 10 bottles (years!). This could convert anyone to Riesling. Mid-gold colour. Medium+ intensity, dynamic, complex, changing nose of mandarins, lime, white floral / acacia notes, and some slatey minerality. All with a ‘fizz’ of life to it that other Zind-Humbrecht wines have shown. I don’t think this has much residual sugar, but would love to know: quite rich, sweet-fruit entry, but that finishes long, dry and minerally. More mandarin and some preserved lemon, but with great acidity to balance. Powerful, but elegant and refreshing. Drink or keep, forget & rediscover?
