An exploration of wine

Dodgy label again… but very nice sweet white wine from Bordeaux – other side of the valley from Sauternes and less well known.

Wine was honeyed on the nose, but with something like leatheriness at the edge, which I assume is a residual aroma from the Botrytis rot – maybe…  Served with sweet (sugary) summer pudding and had just enough sugar to match up. I think I would try to find a fruitier dessert wine in future, but the St-Croix-du-Mont was perfectly fine for the dish.
