No idea where I got this from – a present from someone, I think. But a very interesting illustration of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Forward & upfront, with plenty of good, clean winemaking. But short. Flavour is all upfront, and quickly dies-away on the mid & back-palate. Overt, pronounced aromatics of gooseberry and lemon, but with a noticeable layer of varietal ‘sweaty’ character that emerges – first time I’ve noticed that. Lemon & gooseberry flavour is very enjoyable for as long as it lasts. I wonder if this is slightly overcropped?
