As explained on the prior page, the 1er Cru difference was greater flavour density – real depth – and earthy mineral complexity. Medium colour depth – ruby / purple. Aromatically, a slightly bready, yeasty entry, then earthy cedar spice and espresso unfolds over fresh, deep, briary fruit. Slight herbal note. Richer, fuller mixed red berry fruit, with an almost black tea note. Maximum medium body, but beautifully balanced, refreshingly bright acidity, supple, almost silky tannins, and flavour depth. Still quite primary. Just a slight fruit fade on the finish.
