The interloper, courtesy of Tina! Really interesting to drop this in after some very good Champagnes. The acidity really stands out (though not unbalanced). Also, the pure youthfulness, due to the lack of reserve wines, was evident. Overall, showed its quality, and was thereabouts in such auspicious company! Pale salmon, almost onion-skin, with a persistent bead and rim foam. Bright, fresh berry fruit and citrus. Slightly candied (yeast choice?). Rosemary or sage herbal notes. Firm, linear or ‘angular’ aromatics. Racy acidity giving crisp lemon, apple and redcurrant. Focused, linear fruit. Fine mousse. Quite elegant. Youthful. Pretty good length.
