A superb example of dry Pinot Gris, in the rich, Alsatian style, that covers its 15.5% ABV very well. Fairly deep gold. Exotic aromatics of tropical guava and quince jelly. Mixed peel and some crystal ginger that suggests some botrytis. Pronounced chilli spice and varietal musky ‘sweet’ brown spice notes – but savoury. Full-bodied, oily texture. Oxidative yellow peach and crystal ginger flavour, with a very spicy and earthy mineral mid-palate. Slightly hot finish, but less than expected. Long. Core of refreshing acidity.
