The exam Marlborough Pinot – riper fruit, softer acidity than Central Otago, and suppler tannins, with less depth than Martinborough. Pale-medium ruby, with a garnet hint. Ripe, sweet, soft cherry and strawberry fruit. Faint herbal touch. Mocha oak touches and cinnamon spice. Some earthiness. Medium body. Refreshing acidity. Fruit density – ripe red cherry and cranberry. Rosemary note, and a vanilla note. Savoury, gravelly mineral finish. Quite long.
