A gift from Peter, which we drank whilst skiing… well, with dinner, après-ski, of course! Drank with a mushroom risotto, and it went pretty well. A top-class Sauvignon Blanc this one, and it showed. Initially on the nose, there was a slightly sweaty note, but this blossomed into a complex blend of nettle, sweat, citrus and smokiness (the ‘gunflint’ note, I suppose). Crisp, citrus and nettle flavours, but with a long, lingering minerality which suggested further ageing potential. Really rather good.
