’92 seems able to maintain youthfulness – just like J. B. Becker’s ’92 Rheingau drunk before, this was fresh, with lemon / lime fruit and just the earliest hints of kerosene & toast development on the nose. Bright yellow-gold colour too. The (probably medium) sweetness, balanced with excellent acidity, went very well with the scallops and prawns – as well as the sea bream in beurre blanc – that we had for dinner itself. Pretty good overall, though I’m sure others have shown greater complexity. Nevertheless, this would happily have been kept for 10 more years!
