Hmmm… enigmatic, this one. One of the ‘finer’ wines in the first Optimor case, so I cracked it earlier than I probably would have. 5 years old was probably a bit young. Palate better than slightly odd nose. Light medium yellow-gold with green tinge. When chilled, a fairly muted nose, but which did open up on warming. But, initially dominated by a paint-stripper or maybe pear-drop nose – something volatile, whatever. Then notes of pear and possibly almond emerged. On the palate though, quite full-bodied, with a creamy pear & melon flavour, coupled with fairly overt acidity (minerality is probably the right phrase). Good length. In 3-5 more years?… I wonder. Overall, OK but not earth-shattering.
