A bin-end from Planet of the Grapes, billed as a decent Burgundian Chardonnay, and overall I’d agree – balanced between richness and leanness. Overall not bad – nice, though not going to set the World on fire. Mid-depth yellow-gold with a medium width watery rim. Low-medium intensity nose. Simple, clean cantaloupe melon, with yoghurt and gentle butter notes (light malolactic?). Caramel and coffee cream notes too, oddly. No oak? Clean, moderate-acidity palate. Melon flavours with medium-length passion-fruit finish. Clean, fairly crisp and refreshing.
