So, after much to-ing and fro-ing we finally drank this to wet the head of my nephew Dexter, only 14 months after he was born… Andy picked this up at a hypermarket in France for – well – a song, really. Fast-forward to the Euro era, having given it to me as a birthday present, and we get around to cracking it. Very nice – and notably Moët in style. Mid-gold with a fairly fine but very persistent bead. Complex aromas of fresh baked biscuits – like macaroons or something with almond, vanilla and apricotty fruit. Fairly full-bodied lemony acidity with more biscuit notes on the palate. Slight ‘Moët-style’ bitterness at the finish, but good, citrussy length. Very nice indeed
