A very nice accompaniment to Boxing Day roast goose, due to the structure and robustness of this Volnay. Medium garnet core with a medium width bricking rim. Quite spicy, peppery nose, over drying red fruit and some cocoa (?) notes. Still notable tannin to accompany acidity in structure: I’d guess 3-or-so years more to improve. Dry ?cranberry? and cocoa palate with good length. Interesting to see how my final bottle turns out.
