A gift from Anna on my 40th, which I opened midweek a couple of weeks later. Her employer’s South African wine estate. A pleasant and enjoyable warm-climate, oaked Chardonnay, but with balance. Mid-gold. Marked, but not overdone, warm-climate ripe pear and a hint of mango – yellow fruit. Fine quality new oak overtones, but balanced – less than 100% new? Fairly full-bodied, but with a good streak of juicy lemon acidity. Medium-long.
