Proof that trade consumer tastings work: I tasted the range of Delamotte Champagnes, along with the incomparably elegant Salon 2002, at Corney & Barrow’s Winter tasting. I came away with some of both this NV and the NV Blanc de Blancs. This is elegant with some Pinot vinosity, and a very nice blend of biscuit, toasty complexity and fresh lemon fruit. A fine bead. Moderately dry, firm, balanced dosage and acidity. Pretty long. Ready now, but would hold a year or two more.
