A half-bottle of this was fortunate, as I have some unopened bottles in my cellar. Youthful yet drinkable now; a star of the sweet wine line-up. Mid gold. Blend of roast pineapple, sweet spice, mineral and vanilla in the form of a crème patissière – remarkable. Some waxy Sémillon notes emerge on warming. Ripe quince, subtle pineapple, yellow peach and spice notes. Cream and vanilla ice-cream flavours round-out the palate. This takes on beeswax at the finish on warming. Very long. Firm acidity balances the fully sweet (but not unctuous – 120 g/L? [actual 130 g/L]) palate. Lovely. Look forward to more of these!
