Also opened at team drinks, side-by-side with Schiste, over-leaf. I bought both of these were picked up in Cluses, at the foot of the Col de la Colombière. Same producer, same Alpine region but different soil types, and one (Quartz) a pure Altesse, vs. the blend of the other (including Jacquère and Roussanne). This was clearly richer and better. Mid gold. Bit of butter popcorn, then rich mango and tropical fruit. Some honeysuckle. Barrel fermented? Full-bodied, with medium acidity, medium+ intensity of ripe lemon, passionfruit and buttery notes. Medium+ length finish. Overall, pretty good, and shows the potential of Alpine vineyards.
