With dessert at Andy and Dad’s combined 40th / 70th, this was a very fine, late harvest Gewürz. Deep gold. Pronounced nose of mixed peel, fresh and roasted apricots, then some lychee and passion fruit. But most notably, a peripheral note of ‘dry’ spices – must remember that as a Gewürz note. Full-bodied, sweet, but with a zingy, medium+ acidity that’s remarkable for the grape. Vanilla-laced fruit salad palate, with a long, spicy finish.
