A gift for conference speaking, and it turned out to be the best producer of this Sancerre-alternative appellation. A good, clean, clear Sauvignon Blanc, in the Old World style, but with a subtle softness that made it accessible easily. Possibly just a warmer-vintage impact? Pale gold. Slightly creamy, leesy dimensions to this sharp, crisp lemony nose, with a hint of something smoky in the background – flinty minerality? Dry minerally finish, crisp acidity, but with a touch of roundness and body that gives that slight softness. Unripe lemons and cream flavours, with more minerality on the mid-palate.
