A decent-value Grüner Veltliner, but well put in its place a few days later by Schloss Gobelsburg’s 2010 Kammerner Renner – which had depth, pineapple and spice hints, and spritzy lift. Anyway, Stadt Krems was pale lemon in colour, with a medium intensity nose of ripe lemon, yellow apple, pineapple and brioche toast hints. Flinty, dry, crisp lemon palate. Medium length, bone dry finish. Not bad.
