Bought from the producer with Katy, but drunk & enjoyed with SJ. A really good, quite profound Champagne, whose weight and complexity grew over time, and really flourished. An excellent small grower Champagne! Pale gold, leaning to straw colour. A medium-small, persistent bead. Medium+ intensity creamy, toasty nose, with vanilla, almond and hazelnut. Sweet apple fruit developed into weightier, richer white – then yellow – peach. Toasty dried apricot and sweet grapefruit flavour, with creamy leesy hints. Pretty long, albeit with a slight bitterness at the finish. Not off-dry, but notable dosage. A more delicate mousse and that elimination of bitterness would make this excellent.
