This was a beauty. Mature, but with concentration to age gracefully for another 5 years, maybe? Quite dense garnet colour (medium, rather than light / pale). Surprisingly still fruit-led nose of black cherry, but with development in the form of ‘sous bois’, with a touch of toasty oak. Complex. Tannins classically silky, with medium-high acidity and a medium body, when coupled with concentrated black-cherry fruit this becomes just a great wine to drink – with or without food.
