Bought a half-case of this on the strength of the 2005, and it pretty-much delivers. The one note is that it probably would be well served by an hour in a decanter, to take the pungency off the white pepper note, and let the nose ‘integrate’. Mid yellow-gold. White pepper over vanilla, and tropical (? banana?) notes. Quite ripe fruit, but still with the varietal savouriness. Ripe pear notes develop. On the palate a slight tingle / liveliness from CO2. Medium acidity, but with a fresh lemon-citrus fruit flavour. Quite ripe, medium-full bodied, with a medium-to-long, dry, citrus-peel finish. Creamy mid-palate.
