Had heard of this many times and finally got hold of some from Redmond’s off-licence in Ranelagh, Dublin. Had to put it in! At 14% this is a full-on Christmas lager!! Deep amber-copper colour. Gentle spritz. Malty nose with distinct black treacle tone, and slight breadiness. Thick, sweet palate – syrupy. Some chocolatey flavour with a bitterness at the finish. Alcoholic warmth is unsurprising!! Matches quite well to 72% cocoa Tesco Finest Swiss Dark Chocolate.
