A good Chablis, and nice to see Latour delivering for once… Too many of their wines are overpriced for what they are. Pale yellow colour with green glints. Moderately intense nose, but distinctly lean, green apple and tinned pea notes. Fresh, clean, crisp acidity. Dry, but not austere. Slightly ‘chalky’ texture (but would I have thought that if I’d been served this blind?), with appley flavours again. Fairly long for a straightforward, crisp white – more ‘presence’ than most.
