An opportunity to test “high-end” Corbières again, as well as to test the quality of the Tardieu-Laurent négociant set-up. On opening, the nose was clearly showing burnt toast notes (higher-toast oak barrels?), which then developed into liquorice, black cherry and maybe olive? Soft, rich, full-bodied palate with spicy tannic grip and some acidity. Smoky flavour with some cocoa hints in a quite long, creamy finish. Concentrated flavour and dark colour – initially a bit overblown / heavy, but did improve over time. Overall Good / Indifferent.
