Full-flavour and pretty concentrated wine that made easy drinking – if a little short (only medium length overall). Deep black-garnet colour, with some bricking at the rim. Intense aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry with secondary coffee and mocha bouquet, developing. Good, quite forward sweet fruit, with gentle, balanced tannic grip. An enjoyable wine from Fitou’s one and only best producer – the Mont Tauch co-op. This kind of wine would be competitive with the New World.
