Fascinating way to start MW study group studies, blind. A much more satisfying old-school Rioja than the 1991 Bosconia. Pale garnet, with a tawny hint at the rim. Developed medium+ intensity nose: perfumed red cherry, toast, cinnamon spice, hints of dried cranberry and leather – all subtle and complex. Medium- body, high acidity, medium, elegant tannins. Sour red cherry flavours – crystalline fruit, with a touch of sawdust. Just missing a bit on the mid-palate, though elegant. Medium+ length.
