A really good value, well-made pure Malbec, which shows off Argentina’s style and potential, without necessarily being over-extracted, hyper-ripe or just ‘score-chasing’. Drinking well now, but could possibly become more mature and develop a bit more tertiary. But certainly in early maturity now. Deep, black-ruby core with a narrow rim. Medium+ intensity nose. Blackcurrant (almost Cabernet-like), stewed blueberry and damson fruit, with subtle layers of dark chocolate, cocoa powder and lightly grilled meat. Subtle vanilla and (French?) oak toast / cinnamon. Full-bodied, medium+ alcohol – not overt – and medium acidity. Balanced. Medium, slightly grainy tannin. Rich, sweet blackcurrant fruit, with spicy dark-chocolate overtones. Medium+ length.
