So, whilst sourcing the Dom Tempier 2004 for the next Optimor wine case, the lads at POTG got hold of a bottle of the ’96. It seemed appropriate for the crown roast lamb that Dad did for Mum’s 60th a couple of weeks later. Perfectly ready to drink. A savoury wine, and pretty good overall – enough complexity etc. Mid-depth garnet core. Some dried dark fruit, but a distinctly meaty overtone too. Structured, but ripe and soft tannin – well matured. Medium-full bodied, and decent length. From memory.
