This really showed the class of Central Otago and Two Paddocks. Much more expressive than the First Paddock bottling, and much more ‘alive’! Youthful, juicy, exuberant and yet elegant. Nice. Finished off the bottle with Andy before the Christmas piss-up with our cousins. Clear, pale cherry red with a narrow, rosy rim. Cherry fruit core; maybe with some pomegranate, carrying some herbaceous notes and some subtle brown sugar and cèp notes too. Ripe, soft, sweet cranberry, raspberry and cherry flavours, with good length. Moderate acidity and gentle tannins suggest early drinking.
