Given that this was from the roasting 2003 vintage, this had a surprising lack of concentration – maybe the early-picked (and therefore underripe) fruit went into the Côte de Beaune-Villages cuvée? Pale ruby colour with a narrow cherry rim. Medium-to-low intensity, slightly ‘watery’ nose with some ‘green’ vegetable character… can’t place the aroma precisely. Light body, medium acidity with notable tannin, and overall a thin watery flavour. After a day (and better temperature), some of the watery character dissipated and the wine filled-out more.
