This, by contrast, was ready to drink, and was the best of the 3 Pinots. A combination of a riper, more forward year, and a more renowned (and, I think, sadly, more dead…) winemaker perhaps? A little less structured than I picture Volnay, but a very accessible one. More open, strawberry aromas, and slightly more vibrant red colour. Gentler, more integrated tannins on the palate, coupled with a degree of strawberry sweetness made this very enjoyable drinking! Thanks Giles!
