Another product of my first visit to the Languedoc, and another from the “parcel” picked-up at the Autoroute wine store. But a somewhat disappointing Corbières. Slightly tarry opening on the nose, revealing a quite savoury bouquet – boeuf bourguignon with aromatic herbs. Some tobacco leaf or equivalent, slightly “lifted”, green-leaf hints. Also some cocoa-like notes. Short length, which disappoints most. Medium-bodied and low-medium tannin. Warm, spicy flavour, with distinctly French-oak vanilla flavours. Garnet, medium-intensity colour with some bricking at the rim. Indifferent, overall.
