A Châteauonline recommendation. I agree. Very smooth and easy-drinking wine, but complex, balanced and with some shelf-life. Very deep red with hints of purple at the edge, but golden brown tinges developing. Aromas of blackberry and black cherry fruit initially on the nose, but backed with coffee and toffee aromas. Black cherry flavours with some peppery depth and finish. “Medium-weight” tannin dryness at the finish suggests a few years’ ageing. Very, very smooth and velvety. Goes OK with pan-fried steak, but duck would be better.
