Got this as a freebie after taking part in a Focus Group for the 35 South brand, at LBS. Most of the low-price (mainly Chilean) wines we tried – particularly the 35 South reds – were pretty nasty. Fortunately the Sauvignon Blanc shines much better (well I like Chilean Sauvignon Blancs, anyway). Pale straw colour. Gooseberry and possibly cabbage? (fresh) aromas. Crisp citrussy flavours but not overtly lemony nor flinty-dry. Not complex, but easily drinkable and accessible.
