Decided to see what the Aussie branded wine industry was doing to move “upmarket” (this one comes in its own cardboard box per bottle…). The answer seems to be “well made, but generally inoffensive wine”. This wine will never shake the world. Even deep-red colour. Aromas of black fruit, with some jammy hints (maybe this is what “mulberry” smells like?), and very gentle vanilla / oak. Slightly sweet, fruity and smooth flavour. Slight tannin, but short finish.
