…compared with this one (also from the same Laithwaites) which, whilst MUCH less complex, expresses powerfully the pepper aspect of Syrah. Aromas (tinged bizarrely with a slightly “candied” note) of 4” red chilli peppers – possibly dried (similar, but less sweet, to Paprika dried red chillies). Flavours also distinctly red-peppery. Not a fantastic wine, but very clear flavour expression.
