Clearly infanticide, but this was Grenache in a different league. Deep purple. Brooding, deep nose with a distinctive dusty and schist minerality layered over some oak spice, and jammy black fruits. Plummy, but savoury. On the palate, ripe, but not overripe blackberry fruit, with savoury, minerally, smoky overtones. Touches of vanilla and spice. Firmness of chalky tannins and juicy acidity will bring this a decade or two of life. Holds its 15% alcohol well. Long.
