A really nice surprise this, from a non-classic vintage and appellation. Yet a classic, perfumed Pinot Noir. Pale ruby, with a hint of garnet at the rim. Intensely perfumed nose of rose, sweet strawberry and cranberry, with hints of cinnamon and an undertow of earth, oak-spice and smoky, gravelly minerality. Mint leaf hints. High acidity, medium, silky tannins, light body, with redcurrant and light red cherry flavours. Vegetal mid-palate, with a spicy, medium+ finish. 16.5 / 20.
