Not a bad effort at a modern style Sangiovese, from a less known terroir than any in Tuscany. Perhaps a bit too much new oak, and maybe a touch over-ripe? Don’t think it’s over-extracted. Deep ruby with a hint of black and notable legs. Medium+ intensity nose of black cherry, coal-smoke, cinnamon and black pepper. Dry / savoury. On the palate, more sweet black cherry fruit. Medium+ body and medium+, slightly bitter, smoky, grainy tannin coming through the finish. Medium acidity and medium length. Still quite young.
