Grabbed the bottle (and label) from Sadek Wynberg after a number of us finished it whilst watching a focus group… because it was another chance to test d’Arenberg’s range. Good too. Deep black / ruby colour with a narrow, youthful purple rim. Pronounced, thick aromas of black olives, jammy black (cherry?) fruit, and pronounced coffee-laden oak. Sweet, upfront black fruit flavour with (I think) high-ish glycerine giving a full mouthful. Soft tannin and moderate acidity. Quite a good length, raspberry jam, chocolate and smoke finish. I’d pay £10 for this.
