In its youth, my first of a case as recommended by Jancis Robinson as great value for money. Wow. Just a lovely – no sexy glass of wine! Can’t wait to see how it evolves (oxymoron)!! Cherry-red, light colour, with a narrow, youthful, rosy rim. Intense nose: initially dead leaves (in a nice way), with cocoa and cinnamon; but underpinned with dried cherry and cranberry fruits. Some herbal (sage?) notes too. On the palate, beautiful!! Sexy, svelte, ripe red cherry flavours with gentle tannic grip and balanced acidity. Good length, but it’s the elegance in youth that’s fabulous. Could drink all night. Good concentration. Will develop.
